1. Introduction
This Privacy Policy explains how John Signer ("we", "our", or "us") collects, uses, and protects your information when you use the Fixy mobile application ("the App"). We are committed to protecting your privacy and complying with applicable data protection laws, including the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP) and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).
2. Data We Collect
We collect the minimum amount of data necessary to operate the App.
2.1 Data you provide
- Photos you upload within the App for repair guidance
- Text descriptions you enter to describe your problem
2.2 Data collected automatically
- Anonymous user ID — generated automatically on first launch via Supabase anonymous authentication. No name, email, or personal identifier is required.
- Scan usage count — how many times you have used the repair feature, used to enforce free tier limits
- Saved guides — repair guides you choose to save within the App
- Subscription status — whether you have an active subscription, managed via RevenueCat
- Analytics events — anonymized usage events (e.g. app opened, scan completed, paywall viewed) collected via PostHog
2.3 Data we do NOT collect
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your location
- Your contacts
- Any biometric data
3. How We Use Your Data
We use your data solely to:
- Provide and operate the App's core functionality
- Generate AI-powered repair guides from your photos and descriptions
- Track your usage against free tier limits
- Manage your subscription
- Understand how the App is used in order to improve it (via anonymized analytics)
We do not use your data for advertising, profiling, or any purpose beyond operating Fixy.
4. Third-Party Service Providers
We share limited data with the following trusted service providers, solely to operate the App:

5. Photos and User Content
Photos you upload are:
- Sent to Google's Gemini API for processing to generate your repair guide
- Stored temporarily if you choose to save a guide
- Not used for training AI models
- Not shared with any party beyond what is necessary to generate your guide
You can delete saved guides at any time from within the App.
6. Data Retention

7. Your Rights (GDPR / Swiss FADP)
If you are located in the European Economic Area or Switzerland, you have the following rights:
- Right of access — request a copy of your data
- Right to erasure — request deletion of your data
- Right to restriction — request that we limit processing of your data
- Right to object — object to our processing of your data
- Right to portability — request your data in a portable format

8. Children's Privacy
Fixy is not directed at children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with data, please contact us and we will delete it promptly.
9. Data Security
We implement appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against unauthorized access, loss, or disclosure. Data is transmitted over encrypted connections (HTTPS/TLS).
However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee absolute security.
10. International Data Transfers
Some of our service providers are based in the United States. By using Fixy, you acknowledge that your data may be transferred to and processed in countries outside Switzerland or the EEA. We ensure such transfers are subject to appropriate safeguards (e.g. Standard Contractual Clauses).
11. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes via the App. The "Last updated" date at the top of this page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
